ngl most barbers here think long hair = mullet or buzz it off. i'd skip the typical barbershops and go to a unisex salon instead. try Hair Addict near Ari BTS, they do a lot of guys with longer hair and the stylists actually listen. ask for Fon, she's good with layers and won't give you that awkward triangle shape. around 500-600 baht for a cut but worth it
bounce over to blacksmith barbershop on sukhumvit 39, they actually do a lot of longer hair and aren't just fade machines. ask for gun, he's got long hair himself so he gets the struggle. 500-600 baht but you get a proper consultation and they don't rush you out the door
honestly, most barbers in bangkok are great at fades but get scared when they see hair past the ears. i'd try Narin at BTS Promphong area near the Emporium, he's been cutting long hair for years and actually understands texture. just tell him you want to keep the length and clean up the split ends, he won't try to chop it all off on u. costs like 300-400 baht for a wash and cut, pretty solid for the quality

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
