Where is the area known as Ari in relation to Sukumvit?

Just watched a youtube video about Ari but can't figure out where it is. It looks nice and chilled so wanted a nice hotel in the area. Just watched a youtube video about Ari but can't figure out where it is. It looks nice and chilled so wanted a nice hotel in the area.

yeah ari's basically a solid 25-30 min bts ride from sukhumvit, not walkable at all. it's on the same green line but way north past victory monument. the vibe is totally diff, think tree lined soi's and a ton of indie coffee spots instead of malls and bars. if you want a hotel thats not the generic ari hills, try the jasmine resort on soi ari 2, it's small and pretty chill with a tiny pool, rooms are like 1500-2000 baht a night.

If you're taking the BTS from Sukhumvit, Ari is about 8 stations north on the same green line, past Siam and Victory Monument. It's a totally different vibe up there, more leafy and residential with a lot of independent cafes and wine bars tucked into side streets. If you want a hotel, the Ari Hills is decent but a bit corporate, I'd check out the smaller guesthouses around Soi Ari 1 or 2 for something more local.

Pretty much what everyone else said, it's way up the BTS line. But if you're looking for a hotel, check out the Baan Nueng on Soi Ari 1, it's a tiny guesthouse with maybe five rooms and a rooftop garden, feels more like staying at a friend's place than a hotel.

best som tam in Bangkok? Krua Dok Mai Kao 2026

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
