I will be staying in Sathorn, and the nearest BTS station to my location is Saint Louis (Silom Line).

i'd skip the rabbit card tbh, just use your contactless visa or mastercard at the bts gates, they accept it now and it's the same fare, no need to load anything. sathorn to siam is like 40 baht max, so for 2 weeks you're looking at maybe 1500 total if you ride daily, and you can just check your bank app to see what u spent. also the bts has that early bird thing before 7am where the fare drops a bit, not a pass but if u're up early to hit the markets it's a small win. for the mrt, same deal, tap your card there too, but note they charge a small foreign fee sometimes, still cheaper than buying a physical pass you'll lose.

the rabbit card is the move for sure, but tbh you dont even need to load 500 at once, just put 200 and top up at any 7-eleven, its everywhere. also check if your hotel has a shuttle to the bts, sathorn is full of condos and hotels that run golf carts to the station, saves you the walk in the heat.

for the ferries, the orange flag boat is the tourist one but the local green and yellow flags are way cheaper, like 10-20 baht per ride, and they run the same route mostly. if you're going to chatuchak on the weekend, the bts is fine but the mrt is faster from sathorn, just take the silom line to si lom and switch, the mrt also has a day pass but i think its only 120 baht, not worth it unless you're riding a ton.

one thing nobody mentioned, grab your rabbit card at the bts station itself, not online, some third party sellers charge a markup. and if u lose it, the balance is gone, so keep it in a phone case or something. 2 weeks is long enough that the card pays for itself vs buying single tickets every time, the queue at saint louis is short but at siam or asok it gets brutal.

honestly there's no true unlimited pass for the BTS, the tourist one they sell is just a fixed number of rides, not unlimited. for 2 weeks in sathorn you're better off getting a rabbit card, it's a stored value card, you load it and tap through, saves you the queue at every station. the river ferry is a solid backup too, the chaophraya express boat has a tourist day pass for like 150 baht, unlimited rides on the orange flag line, which is handy if you're heading to iconsiam or wat arun. but for daily bts use, just load 500 baht onto the rabbit card and top up when it runs low, it never expires so no waste.

Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but I've always found their som tam a bit tame on the pla ra. If you want the real funky version, try the shophouse spots along Soi Udomsuk 26, near the night market end. They pound it fresh with fermented fish that'll clear your sinuses, and it's like 60 baht. Different style from the On Nut places, more Lao-leaning.

for som tam specifically i'd say the Isaan spots in Chatuchak are underrated, weekdays only though since the weekend crowd ruins the vibe. there's a stall near gate 2 that does tam pa with fermented bamboo shoots, super sour and funky, not something you see much in On Nut. if you're already heading north for Or Tor Kor anyway its worth the detour.

honestly the som tam at Krua Dok Mai Kao is good but what got me hooked is their nam prik pla raa dip with the raw veggies, that funk hits way harder than the papaya does. think most people sleep on it cuz they just order the som tam and gai yang. also pro tip, go before noon on weekdays, after that teh pla ra gets milder cuz they batch it for the lunch rush
