honestly july is kinda rainy season here so pack an umbrella. if you're into partying check out khao san road for the backpacker vibe or thong lor for more local spots. for a chill day hit up jj green market at night, it's way less touristy than chatuchak. also try the boat noodle alley near victory monument, it's cheap and legit.
July's actually a great time to hit up the rooftop bars since the rain usually clears by evening. I'd skip the super touristy ones and check out Tichuca or Mahanakhon SkyBar for the vibe, but book ahead. For food, the yaowarat road street food in Chinatown is chaos but worth it, especially the grilled seafood around 8pm. If you want a proper party night without the backpacker scene, try the clubs on Sukhumvit Soi 11, but watch your drink and negotiate taxi fares before getting in.
if you're staying near bts you can pretty much get anywhere without dealing with taxis. the skytrain is cheap and fast, just avoid rush hour 5-7pm. for a fun night without the super touristy stuff, check out the bars around ekkamai or ari, they're more chill and you'll meet actual locals. also if you're into markets, the rot fai market srinakarin is huge and open late, way better than the crowded ones downtown
best som tam in Bangkok? Krua Dok Mai Kao 2026
yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
