It feels like everyone's been telling me recently that living costs and expenses are getting higher and higher in BKK.

Well, I just wanna say, thanks to the Covid, the war and climate change, the living cost has been all higher up globally.

But at the same time , I'm really curious to find out that Taipei and Bangkok , which city has the most increasing inflation rate?

I have found the information on Taipei government website, yet had hard time finding them on any BKK official websites..

Anyone can help me here?

honestly you wont find a single "bangkok inflation rate" figure on any official site because that data is tracked nationally by the Bank of Thailand, not city-level. the closest you'll get is the consumer price index for the whole country, which they update monthly on their website

for a rough idea, walk around a soi like sukhumvit 38 or charoen krung and look at the menu prices. a pad thai that was 50 baht in 2019 is now 80-100 baht at most street stalls. electricity bills have gone up noticeably too, especially after the Ft rate adjustment this year

comparing to taipei is tricky because their data is more granular. but anecdotally, bangkok's inflation feels worse in food and transport while taipei's is more in housing and utilities. the official national thai inflation was around 6% last year, which is high for here

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
