*areas where food and bars are available all night/very late into the night

Hi, I'm considering doing a month long stint in Thailand while I work online. However, in Thailand my hours would be midnight-6AM, meaning I would have to be a night owl. Which parts of the city are good for this lifestyle that I should look at for a place to stay? Meaning i can go out my door and find places to eat or drink at all hours of the night.

If you're working midnight to 6AM, you might want to look at Ratchada or Huai Khwang. The area around the Ratchada train market has food stalls and bars that run late, plus a lot of 24-hour Korean bbq spots and massage places that stay open past 3AM. It's less touristy than Sukhumvit so the prices are better, and the MRT makes it easy to get around if you need to head elsewhere.

yeah sukhumvit's the obvious choice but honestly if you want something a bit more chill with late night stuff too, check out silom. during the day it's all offices but at night it turns into a whole different scene. street food stays out till like 4am around patpong and the convenience stores never close, plus there's some 24hr cafes if u need a break from being out

Try Ekkamai instead of the busier parts of Sukhumvit. It's quieter but still has 24 hour food spots and some late night bars that are open till dawn.

best som tam in Bangkok? Krua Dok Mai Kao 2026

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
