Western union is open on Sundays?

Hey guys, I'm wondering if western union is actually open on Sunday. The opening hours on Google aren't reliable enough. Any experience? Hey guys, I'm wondering if western union is actually open on Sunday. The opening hours on Google aren't reliable enough. Any experience?

yeah most of the big ones in central malls follow mall hours so sunday is fine until like 9pm, but the small street side agents are hit or miss. i usually hit the one inside robinson on sukhumvit 19, it's open sundays and less crowded than the siam ones. just avoid the ones in tourist areas around khao san, they're overpriced and sometimes just close whenever they feel like it. if ur near an scb or kasikorn branch that does western union, those are the safest bet since bank hours are posted clearly.

honestly most Western Union spots here are inside malls or banks, and those follow their own hours. the standalone ones in Big C or Tesco Lotus branches usually open 10-6 even on Sundays, but the ones in Central malls might close earlier, like 8pm. your best bet is the branch near BTS Chit Lom on Lang Suan, that one's been reliable for me on weekends. just double check it's not a holiday, Songkran or something, then they just shut everything.

best som tam in Bangkok? Krua Dok Mai Kao 2026

Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but I've always found their som tam a bit tame on the pla ra. If you want the real funky version, try the shophouse spots along Soi Udomsuk 26, near the night market end. They pound it fresh with fermented fish that'll clear your sinuses, and it's like 60 baht. Different style from the On Nut places, more Lao-leaning.

for som tam specifically i'd say the Isaan spots in Chatuchak are underrated, weekdays only though since the weekend crowd ruins the vibe. there's a stall near gate 2 that does tam pa with fermented bamboo shoots, super sour and funky, not something you see much in On Nut. if you're already heading north for Or Tor Kor anyway its worth the detour.

honestly the som tam at Krua Dok Mai Kao is good but what got me hooked is their nam prik pla raa dip with the raw veggies, that funk hits way harder than the papaya does. think most people sleep on it cuz they just order the som tam and gai yang. also pro tip, go before noon on weekdays, after that teh pla ra gets milder cuz they batch it for the lunch rush
