Check the small alteration shops around the old custom tailoring district on Charoen Krung Road, near Soi 30. There's a woman named Oy who used to work at the old Thai Silk Company outlet and now runs her own tiny shop from a shophouse there. She made me a custom bralette with extra side support panels for about 800 baht, which was a lot less than the places in Thong Lo charge. You might need to go in the morning when she's less busy, since she usually closes by 5pm.

I would check with the alteration ladies at the tailor counters in MBK center, specifically the ones on the 4th floor near the fabric market. They see all kinds of weird requests and will usually take on a project if you bring them the pattern pieces already cut. I had one there add underwire channels to a cotton tank top for me, cost about 300 baht and took three days. Just avoid the rush before Songkran when they're all swamped.

yeah if you're on fb check the bangkok alterations group, there's a woman named tuk who works from a shop near on nut bts, opposite tesco lotus. she does a lot of structural bra work for post-surgery stuff so she gets the engineering part. bring your fabric and a sketch, she's not great with english but her daughter translates. expect to go for two fittings minimum

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
