Can anyone suggest where to hire part time Thai/Japanese speaking digital marketer?

The job can be done online, 2 - 3 days per week, 2 - 3 hours each time (keyword planning, tech document translation, test campaign coordination, etc.) .

I've tried Adecco (they only do full time placement), Robert Walters (not their specialty), PRTR (no response). Anyone know of a good platform to recruit this type of talent? And what would be fair hourly rate in THB for this type of service? Thanks!

another angle - try the freelance platforms that are actually popular here, not the global ones. fastwork.co is thailand's version of freelancer and has a good chunk of bilingual thai/japanese folks doing digital marketing gigs already. i've seen profiles there listing both languages and ad platform experience, plus you can browse their past work and ratings before reaching out

for rate, i'd lean more towards 700-1000 thb per hour given the tech doc translation piece. that's the part that usually trips people up because digital marketing jargon in thai doesn't always map cleanly to japanese, so you're paying for someone who can bridge that gap without losing meaning. also worth noting that many thai freelancers on fastwork quote in project fees rather than hourly, so you might get a better deal offering a fixed monthly retainer for the 2-3 days per week setup

honestly your best bet is probably going niche rather than big agencies. there's a facebook group called "Japanese Speaking Community in Thailand" that's pretty active, or try "BKK Japanese Connect" - both have people with mixed language skills looking for side gigs. for digital marketing specifically, I've seen a few folks on Upwork who are based in Bangkok but pitch themselves as bilingual JP/TH, just filter by location and past project types

for rate, I'd say around 500-800 THB per hour is fair for someone with 3 years experience and both languages. maybe on the higher end if they're actually doing strategy work rather than just translation. the key thing is these hybrid language roles are rare so you're paying for the combo, not just one skill. just be upfront about the hours being part time and remote, some people will take a slight cut for flexibility

You might have better luck posting on Kaidee or JobsDB with a very specific job title in Thai, something like "นักการตลาดดิจิทัล ภาษาไทย-ญี่ปุ่น." The bilingual pool in Bangkok that actually does digital marketing is pretty small, so a direct search on those platforms can sometimes surface people who aren't actively looking but have their resume up.

For the hourly rate, I'd push closer to 900-1,200 THB if you need them to handle campaign coordination and tech docs, not just keyword planning. 500-800 is fine for translation-heavy work, but the coordination part is where the real value is, especially if they need to talk to both your Tokyo team and local Thai vendors. Also, one thing to watch out for is whether they can handle Google Ads Manager or Facebook Business Suite in Thai, since a lot of bilingual candidates here are strong in language but weak in the actual ad platforms.

best som tam in Bangkok? Krua Dok Mai Kao 2026

Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but I've always found their som tam a bit tame on the pla ra. If you want the real funky version, try the shophouse spots along Soi Udomsuk 26, near the night market end. They pound it fresh with fermented fish that'll clear your sinuses, and it's like 60 baht. Different style from the On Nut places, more Lao-leaning.

for som tam specifically i'd say the Isaan spots in Chatuchak are underrated, weekdays only though since the weekend crowd ruins the vibe. there's a stall near gate 2 that does tam pa with fermented bamboo shoots, super sour and funky, not something you see much in On Nut. if you're already heading north for Or Tor Kor anyway its worth the detour.

honestly the som tam at Krua Dok Mai Kao is good but what got me hooked is their nam prik pla raa dip with the raw veggies, that funk hits way harder than the papaya does. think most people sleep on it cuz they just order the som tam and gai yang. also pro tip, go before noon on weekdays, after that teh pla ra gets milder cuz they batch it for the lunch rush
