About a decade ago, there used to be a pop-up bar at a construction site exclusively playing reggae music, and it was always bustling with people. Maybe someone can direct me to a place. It doesn't have to feature live music like Trenchtown in Pattaya.Thanks.

honestly i think you're not gonna find a dedicated reggae bar in sukhumvit these days, the scene just shifted. a few places on soi 11 and 22 will throw on reggae nights but its not a permanent thing, more like a tuesday special at some craft beer spot. the old pop-up you're talking about was prob near Asok construction site, I remember that vibe but it was more of a one-off thing. if you're cool with a mix, try Beers and Beats on soi 12, they have a sound system that leans dub occasionally and the crowd is chill.

There's actually a spot called Reggae Bar on Soi 11, tucked away in the basement of the old Ruamrudee International School building. It's more of a dive bar vibe than the Khao San ones, but they play strictly reggae and dub all night. The drinks are cheap for Sukhumvit, around 80 baht for a beer during their happy hour. It's been there for a few years now, so not quite the pop-up you remember, but it gets a decent crowd on weekends.

fwiw there's a small bar on Soi 23 called The Office that does reggae sets on thursday nights, not a full-on reggae bar but the owner's a huge dub head and brings in vinyl from jamaica sometimes. its hidden behind a tailor shop so easy to miss. also if you're up for a short walk from sukhumvit, check out the rooftop at J Avenue, they used to have a reggae sunday thing that was lowkey but i think it moved indoors last year.

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
