Nice and quite cafes to work?

I mostly work from home but it's abit lonely to work from home alone sometimes so I wanna find some cafes to work at, preferably accessible by MRT. Thank you in advance! Kaizen Coffee near MRT Samyan is worth a look. It's on the third floor of Samyan Mitrtown, which sounds busy but the cafe itself is tucked away from the mall chaos. Weekday mornings are especially dead, maybe five other people max, and the power outlets are actually at table height. Their drip coffee is 130 baht and they don't rush you out even if you nurse it for two hours.

try the coffee shop inside phra ram 9 mrt station itself, called too good to go. it's small and most people just grab & leave so you get the place to yourself after lunch. outlets are under the bar counter though so you need a long cord. their iced matcha is 90 baht and not too sweet

You might like Casa Lapin near MRT Huai Khwang. It's a bit tucked away on Ratchadaphisek Soi 8, so it stays quiet even on weekends. They've got solid wifi and the cold brew is decent, around 120 baht. Just avoid the outlet-less tables near the front if you need to plug in your laptop.

best som tam in Bangkok? Krua Dok Mai Kao 2026

Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but I've always found their som tam a bit tame on the pla ra. If you want the real funky version, try the shophouse spots along Soi Udomsuk 26, near the night market end. They pound it fresh with fermented fish that'll clear your sinuses, and it's like 60 baht. Different style from the On Nut places, more Lao-leaning.

for som tam specifically i'd say the Isaan spots in Chatuchak are underrated, weekdays only though since the weekend crowd ruins the vibe. there's a stall near gate 2 that does tam pa with fermented bamboo shoots, super sour and funky, not something you see much in On Nut. if you're already heading north for Or Tor Kor anyway its worth the detour.

honestly the som tam at Krua Dok Mai Kao is good but what got me hooked is their nam prik pla raa dip with the raw veggies, that funk hits way harder than the papaya does. think most people sleep on it cuz they just order the som tam and gai yang. also pro tip, go before noon on weekdays, after that teh pla ra gets milder cuz they batch it for the lunch rush
