Where can I get a second hand kindle?

Just looking for somewhere reliable! Older models. Also what prices would they be? Just looking for somewhere reliable! Older models. Also what prices would they be?

fwiw i'd check the kindle forums on pantip too, people sell their old ones there all the time and they're usually local so u can pick up same day. saw a voyage go for like 1800 baht last week, those are getting rare. if u're okay waiting, the amazon warehouse deals on the us site sometimes ship here but shipping kills it, not worth it for older models. one thing nobody mentioned: the battery on these old ones is a gamble, so ask how long it holds a charge before u commit. mbk is overpriced but at least u can plug it in and test, that's the safest option if u're not confident buying blind.

honestly fb marketplace is your best bet for older kindles, tons of expats selling them when they leave. i've seen paperwhite 3rd gens go for 1500-2500 baht, sometimes with a case and charger. just meet at a bts station, check the screen for dead pixels before handing over cash. if u want a shop, mbk center has a few stalls on the 4th floor but they markup to 3000+ and the stock is hit or miss. avoid the ones near pantip plaza, they're mostly refurbished junk with weird battery issues.

facebook groups for thrifting here are pretty active too, i saw a kindle oasis on one of the bangkok buy/sell groups last month for like 3500. if u're okay with the older keyboard models those pop up for under a grand sometimes. just search "kindle" in the group and sort by recent, sellers usually post pics with timestamps so it feels less sketchy.

best som tam in Bangkok? Krua Dok Mai Kao 2026

Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but I've always found their som tam a bit tame on the pla ra. If you want the real funky version, try the shophouse spots along Soi Udomsuk 26, near the night market end. They pound it fresh with fermented fish that'll clear your sinuses, and it's like 60 baht. Different style from the On Nut places, more Lao-leaning.

for som tam specifically i'd say the Isaan spots in Chatuchak are underrated, weekdays only though since the weekend crowd ruins the vibe. there's a stall near gate 2 that does tam pa with fermented bamboo shoots, super sour and funky, not something you see much in On Nut. if you're already heading north for Or Tor Kor anyway its worth the detour.

honestly the som tam at Krua Dok Mai Kao is good but what got me hooked is their nam prik pla raa dip with the raw veggies, that funk hits way harder than the papaya does. think most people sleep on it cuz they just order the som tam and gai yang. also pro tip, go before noon on weekdays, after that teh pla ra gets milder cuz they batch it for the lunch rush
