Anybody here works in BKK film industry, or knows someone who does?

Or maybe there are some BKK film communities I can reach out to? I'm arranging a 5-7 day shoot this summer and will need a full crew (paid industry rate).

I'd actually recommend connecting with the production team at 185 Rajdamri, that's where a lot of the luxury commercial and music video shoots get coordinated. The building manager there knows everyone because they host so many pre-pro meetings. For a summer shoot, you'll want to lock your Thai crew early since June through August is when a lot of local commercial work picks up for the rainy season campaigns. The Thai Film Director Association on Sukhumvit 24 also keeps a roster of experienced line producers who specifically handle foreign productions, they're more responsive than the government office.

yeah i know a few people in that world. check out the Facebook group "Bangkok Film Crew & Production Network" it's pretty active and you'll find everyone from DPs to coordinators there. also the Foreign Correspondents Club has some members who do production work on the side

for local producers specifically, try reaching out to the crew at Studio 28 near On Nut. they do a lot of international shoots and their line producers know the city well. if you need permits or location scouting, they're solid

one thing nobody tells you about shooting in BKK in summer is the rain schedule. it rains almost every afternoon from like 2-5, so plan your outdoor scenes for mornings or you'll be rescheduling constantly. also most Thai crew work on daily rates, not weekly, so budget accordingly

the thai film office on ratchadaphisek has a list of registered local line producers, that's probably ur best bet for legit contacts. i'd also check in with the crew at kantana studios, they do a lot of commercial work and usually have people available during the summer lull

one practical thing - most thai crew won't work past 8pm without a big overtime bump, and the traffic around thonglor can kill ur schedule if you're moving between locations. budget an extra hour per move during rush hour

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
