I have tried AIS The One SIM - slow and poor connection.

Thank you!!

the AIS one sim is just a tourist thing really, if you're staying long term go to an AIS shop and get a proper postpaid plan. i pay like 799 baht a month for the 5G unlimited plan at my condo and it's been solid for streaming and gaming, no throttling issues. just bring ur passport and rental contract if u have one, they'll set it up right there. true move has a similar deal for 699 but i found their coverage spotty in my area near thong lo

honestly skip the tourist sims entirely, go to any AIS shop and ask for their "fiber to home" sim alternative. it's a postpaid plan that gives u true unlimited data with no fair usage policy, costs 899 a month for 5G. i've been using it for a year in my place near ekkamai and i can torrent stuff at like 300mbps down, no issues with ps5 downloads or 4k youtube. just tell them u want the "ais 5g unlimited with no speed cap" and show ur passport, they might ask for a deposit if u don't have a work permit but it's like 500 baht refundable. true has a similar thing at 799 but their customer service is trash so i'd stick with ais

yeah the other replies are right about going postpaid but if u want a cheaper option that still works well, try the true move h 5g unlimited plan at 599. i used it for months in a sathorn condo and got consistent 200+ mbps, good enough for ps5 downloads and streaming. just make sure ur condo has true signal first, some buildings are spotty depending on which side faces the tower. if u want the absolute fastest and dont mind paying more, the ais 5g at 899 is king but 599 true is a solid middle ground for what u need

best som tam in Bangkok? Krua Dok Mai Kao 2026

Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but I've always found their som tam a bit tame on the pla ra. If you want the real funky version, try the shophouse spots along Soi Udomsuk 26, near the night market end. They pound it fresh with fermented fish that'll clear your sinuses, and it's like 60 baht. Different style from the On Nut places, more Lao-leaning.

for som tam specifically i'd say the Isaan spots in Chatuchak are underrated, weekdays only though since the weekend crowd ruins the vibe. there's a stall near gate 2 that does tam pa with fermented bamboo shoots, super sour and funky, not something you see much in On Nut. if you're already heading north for Or Tor Kor anyway its worth the detour.

honestly the som tam at Krua Dok Mai Kao is good but what got me hooked is their nam prik pla raa dip with the raw veggies, that funk hits way harder than the papaya does. think most people sleep on it cuz they just order the som tam and gai yang. also pro tip, go before noon on weekdays, after that teh pla ra gets milder cuz they batch it for the lunch rush
