can anyone recommend me a good and cheap recording studio in bkk?

If you're open to something a bit further out, check out Studio 66 on Charoen Krung Road near Saphan Taksin. They charge around 600-1,000 baht an hour and have an old school Neve-style console that gives a warm sound you don't get from the digital stuff. The owner is a retired session bassist who's been around since the 90s, so he knows the ins and outs of the Bangkok scene. Just book on a weekday afternoon if you want it quieter, the street noise picks up in the evenings.

honestly for that price range i'd check out Khlong Toei Studio near the MRT. they're under the radar since they don't really advertise but the room sounds way better than most of the cookie cutter places in Ekkamai. 500-900 baht an hour last time i was there and they have a solid U87 clone that actually works. bring your own headphones tho theirs are kinda beat up

Try Sound Lab on Sukhumvit 69, right near the BTS Phra Khanong station. They've got decent gear without the Sathon Road prices, around 800-1,200 baht an hour depending on the room. I've recorded a couple demos there and the engineer actually knows how to dial in a vocal chain, which is rare at that budget. Just call ahead because they book up fast on weekends.

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
