have a friend who got relocated here to one of the hotel groups earning 150k for junior role. Obviously for her it's an internal relocation.

However, never seen these jobs advertised on LinkedIn, to be available for locals or foreigners - is there a hidden market for that?

honestly those roles exist but theyre almost never posted publicly. the big hotel groups here like marriott or anantara fill senior spots through headhunters or internal referrals. your friend got lucky with the relocation route but for most people you gotta network at industry events or get introduced by someone already inside.

try reaching out to hospitality recruiters directly, there's a few agencies in bangkok that specialize in hotel placements. also check the hotel's own career pages on their websites, sometimes they list regional roles there that dont show up on linkedin. the pay is good but competition is fierce cause everyone wants those expat packages.

The hotel career pages are worth checking but you're right that most of those roles never hit public job boards. What I've seen work is finding the specific HR directors or regional talent acquisition managers for groups like Minor or ACCOR on LinkedIn and connecting with them directly, even if they don't have openings posted. A lot of those 100k+ roles come from someone leaving and the manager already having a shortlist of people they've interviewed before. There's also the Bangkok Hospitality Network meetups that happen every few months, usually at hotels like the W or SO Sofitel, where the department heads actually show up and chat.

yeah the hidden market is real, most of those gigs get filled through word of mouth or exec search firms like horton international or c9t. if ur not already in the circle it's tough but try hitting up the thai hotel association or the alumni groups of places like les roches or shms, that's where the leads pop up

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
