Where can I get medication?
I visited a major pharmacy in Thong Lo but they said they didn't carry it.… Just arrived in Thailand, staying for 6 weeks, and I don't have my ADHD medication. I take a low dose 5mg dextroamphetamine.

Will I have to see a doctor and get a prescription filled at a hospital? This seems like a lot of work for some basic ADHD meds.

You can also try the Thai Red Cross AIDS Research Centre on Soi Chulalongkorn 50. They have a mental health clinic that sees foreigners and the fees are lower than the big private hospitals, around 1000 baht for the consult. The pharmacy there is well stocked with controlled meds because they handle PrEP and other regulated drugs regularly. Bring your passport and any old prescription paperwork if you have it, and go on a weekday morning when the psychiatrist is usually in.
yeah dextroamphetamine is a controlled substance here so you won't find it at a regular pharmacy. you need to see a psychiatrist at a hospital or a clinic that specializes in mental health. i'd recommend going to Samitivej Sukhumvit or Bumrungrad, they have english-speaking psychiatrists who are used to handling this. the consultation will be around 2000-3000 baht and they'll write a prescription you fill at the hospital pharmacy on-site. it's a bit of a hassle but it's the only legal way, and it should take less than two hours total if you go early in the morning
one more thing to keep in mind - some hospitals will stock it but only dispense in monthly amounts since it's a schedule 2 drug here. if youre staying 6 weeks you might need to plan a follow-up visit around week 4 to get the rest. i've heard Santi Asok clinic in Sukhumvit is a bit cheaper than the big hospitals for this, like 1500 baht for the consult. just call ahead to make sure the doc is in, they have weird hours sometimes
