Working from Seoul 2026: wifi, cafes, time zones?

Also curious how people handle the time difference with europe or the us, do you just work weird hours or is there a better setup? Thinking of basing myself near Hearth Bakery in case that area makes any difference

Mangwon, so skip the 2pm cafe crush.

arrow_drop_up 25 arrow_drop_down
Image selma local ·

Yeah the 3 to 5 lull is real, mornings are dead quiet.

Image marena local ·

the crush hits hard on weekends too, families roll in after lunch. weekdays the quiet window is more like 3 to 5, then it fills again for dinner. small independent spots near the market stay calmer than the chains

or just work from home til 3

For the US overlap I shift my day to noon to 9pm, dinner after. For Europe, split shifts beat one long weird block. Grab a Toss or Naver Pay card early to pay for desks and coffee without cash hassle.

Noon start kills the morning gym crowd though

arrow_drop_up 3 arrow_drop_down

Naver Pay card saved me, use it everywhere.

wifi in seoul cafes is solid, basically every spot has a password on the receipt. if u mean hearth near mangwon, that area's quiet & residential, cheap monthly spots around hongdae are a short bus ride. for europe i just do early mornings, 4-6pm seoul is their morning

arrow_drop_up 3 arrow_drop_down

Hongdae spots fill up by 10am, grab a desk early.

arrow_drop_up 2 arrow_drop_down

Late nights for the US, 6pm is their morning there.

Best diner food near Corner Diner in Seoul 2026?

fmd_goodCorner Diner · #seoul #breakfast #diner
I'm visiting Seoul next month and staying close to Corner Diner, and I've heard the breakfast there is worth the trip. Are there other diners nearby I should check out for an early meal in 2026? Gwangjang market's bindaetteok stalls open around 7 and beat any Western breakfast nearby, maybe 5,000 won a plate.

arrow_drop_up 5 arrow_drop_down
Image frida local ·

Not all stalls, the ones in the middle alley do sundae gukbap too

arrow_drop_up 2 arrow_drop_down

Image dorothee local ·

the yukhoe alley stalls too, same hours

arrow_drop_up 5 arrow_drop_down

honestly the bindaetteok is better at the stalls closer to Jongno 5 ga station side, less queue than the main alley. go before 8 or you're standing behind tour groups. they also do makgeolli if you want it at 7am, no judgement

Prices crept up this year, expect closer to 6,500 for bindaetteok now. Ask for the haemul pajeon too, it's the sleeper order at those stalls.

arrow_drop_up 20 arrow_drop_down
Image nellyengl local ·

haemul pajeon is the right call, just order it first thing cuz the good stalls run the seafood one in small batches and it's gone by 9. also bring cash, most of them stopped taking cards this year and the atm at the market entrance charges a fee

Image romi local ·

5,000 won is 2023 talk, closer to 7 now

arrow_drop_up 4 arrow_drop_down

Image jana local ·

if u want korean breakfast instead, the haejangguk places along sinheung-ro in yongsan open at 6am & cost like 9,000 won.

arrow_drop_up 2 arrow_drop_down
Image dorabuss local ·

most of those sinheung-ro spots do seonji haejangguk rather than the pork version, so know which u want before u sit down. the one just past the samgakji end stays open till like 2pm too, not just morning

Corner Diner is in Itaewon, so walk five minutes to Casablanca for a proper shakshuka breakfast, better value than the diner itself.
