Flight attendant here,

I'd like to know the following things

where can I find a place to buy vintage items? I collect cassette walkmans so it's nice to find

where can I find nice retro or thrift stores?

where can I meet people in their 20s to hangout?

Thank you for any information provided

if you're after walkmans specifically, check out the old camera and electronics shops on klong thom market near charoen krung. it's a chaotic warehouse vibe but they have bins of old tech from the 80s and 90s, and the sellers are old dudes who know their stuff. for meeting people in their 20s that isn't khao san, the arcade bars on sukhumvit soi 23 like playmore and the game centers at mega plaza have a social scene where people just hang and play street fighter. your flight attendant badge might get you a chat with locals who think it's cool

For vintage electronics like walkmans, Chatuchak Weekend Market has a few stalls in the indoor section near Soi 1/2 that specialize in old audio gear. You'll have to dig through piles of junk but the prices are usually reasonable compared to the vintage shops on Charoen Krung Road.

For retro clothing and thrift finds, Srinakarin Train Market (Rod Fai) is the real spot. It's huge and open Thursday to Sunday evenings, with a mix of vintage clothes, furniture, and random collectibles. The stalls near the back have cheaper stuff than the ones by the entrance.

To meet people in their 20s, check out the hostel bars around Khao San Road like Mad Monkey or the rooftop at NapPark. If you want something less touristy, the bars on Ekkamai Soi 10 and 12 draw a younger Thai crowd who are usually up for talking to visitors.

honestly, the train markets are cool but they can be overwhelming. If you want a more chill vibe for thrifting, try patpong night market. It's touristy but has random electronic stuff tucked away. for meeting people, check out the board game cafes around siam square, they

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
