Where and when else can I see fireworks in Bangkok? Will there be any for Chinese New Year? If so, where?

yeah those were probably from the suan plu area, there's a chinese temple complex over there that does random fireworks for festivals and merit-making events. not always announced. for cny, yaowarat is the main spot but honestly go to the wat mangkon area a few days before, they test-fire stuff and it's less crowded. if you want a chill view of the whole city skyline with fireworks, the roof of the bangkok marriott on surawongse is decent but pricey

yeah those were probably from one of the condo towers further down sukhumvit like the ones near phra khanong, they do random private shows pretty often especially on weekends. for chinese new year the official one is at yaowarat but if u want to avoid the chaos, the riverfront at saphan taksin has a good view from the pier area, or even better just grab a drink at the rooftop at river city, it's quieter and u can see both the city and river displays.

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
