if you're already at IT Tower, just go to the basement floor at MBK Center instead. there's a row of shops near the food court that sell secondhand carts for like 800-1200 baht, way cheaper than eShop sales. also check the shop called "nintendo shop" on the 4th floor of Siam Square, they sometimes have clearance on Thai region copies that work fine in english

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
