Would they be okay with that, or would they think I came to a wrong type of a massage salon?

ngl it depends a bit on the vibe of the place. at the higher end spots like Asia Herb Association or Oasis Spa, asking for someone by name is super normal and they'll even suggest it if you mention you liked a certain style. but at the tiny shops along Soi Rambuttri, some of the older ladies might give you a look if you're too specific about a younger therapist, they prob think you're after extras. stick to saying something like "mai prong gub khon nun" if you want to avoid that person, or just describe the technique you liked rather than the person's age or looks

honestly i prefer booking ahead online for places like ruen nuad or pra挽pai on soi 8. you can usually see their profile with a photo and sometimes even read reviews mentioning specific therapists by name. that way you're not awkwardly pointing at someone in the lobby. also if you're a guy, some older aunties at street level places near khao san might assume you want something else if you're too specific about a young girl. stick to the reputable spots and you'll be fine

i think its worth mentioning that even at the legit places, the staff rotate shifts so your favorite masseuse might not be there when you show up. i learned that the hard way at a spot near thong lo, showed up asking for this lady named tuk and she was off until the next day. now i usually call ahead or message them on line if i know whos good, saves the walk. also some of the bigger chains like health land will let you book a specific person if you call same day, but not always online

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
