you see them more at night honestly, especially around sukhumvit soi 11 or nana area after 10pm they get pretty busy with tourists. thais do go but mostly to the ones that are more like cafes with a chill vibe, not the neon-lit glass window spots. also a lot of them double as delivery hubs so you just don't see the customers physically, they're making bank off grabfood-style orders

a lot of them are just fronting their main business through delivery apps honestly. plus some of those shops are just money laundering fronts lol, especially the ones that look empty all day

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
