If you're up for a short drive, Suan Phlu Park in the old town is a quiet spot. It's a small community park with a canal running through it, and the benches under the big trees stay mostly empty on weekday afternoons. Grab a coffee from the little stall by the entrance and you'll hear birds and water more than anything else.

Honestly, just head to Bang Krachao. It's this green island across the river, super easy to get to by ferry from Klong Toey. Lots of shaded paths and little temple spots where you can just sit with your book and hear birds instead of traffic.

try the upper seating area at phra sumen fort near banglamphu. it's a small park wrapped around an old fortress wall, and if you climb the little hill you get these benches tucked away from the main path where the canal sounds mix with the trees. the book tower cafe across the street sells decent iced tea and you can bring it in without hassle

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
