Does anyone know where I can get some tobacco rolling papers near Siam Square?

We found a dispensary in Sukhumvit that sells joint papers for like 200 baht each , but just looking for regular tally-ho, venti papers for tobacco that won't send me broke!! yeah the 7-11 thing is correct but if you want something a bit better than tally-hos, check out the little stationery shop tucked inside Siam Square soi 3. they have RAW organic papers for like 40 baht, way nicer than the gas station stuff. also the tobacco shop near the National Stadium BTS exit on the canal side sells bulk packs of OCB for 25 baht if you ask for the ones not on display

ngl you're getting ripped off at 200 baht for papers. there's a little shop on Siam Square soi 2 called Baan Siam that sells rolling stuff, they have ventis for 20 baht and even those zig zag ones for 15. also the old dude who runs the magazine stall outside Siam BTS exit 2 always has tally-hos tucked under his table, just point and he'll hand em over for 10 baht

just hit up the little convenience store on Soi 6 behind Siam Square, it's called Family Mart or something similar. they have a whole rack of rolling papers near the register, tally-hos are like 12 baht and they even have those smoking brand ones for 25 if you want something nicer. the old lady who runs it doesn't speak much english but just show her a picture and you're good

best som tam in Bangkok? Krua Dok Mai Kao 2026

Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but I've always found their som tam a bit tame on the pla ra. If you want the real funky version, try the shophouse spots along Soi Udomsuk 26, near the night market end. They pound it fresh with fermented fish that'll clear your sinuses, and it's like 60 baht. Different style from the On Nut places, more Lao-leaning.

for som tam specifically i'd say the Isaan spots in Chatuchak are underrated, weekdays only though since the weekend crowd ruins the vibe. there's a stall near gate 2 that does tam pa with fermented bamboo shoots, super sour and funky, not something you see much in On Nut. if you're already heading north for Or Tor Kor anyway its worth the detour.

honestly the som tam at Krua Dok Mai Kao is good but what got me hooked is their nam prik pla raa dip with the raw veggies, that funk hits way harder than the papaya does. think most people sleep on it cuz they just order the som tam and gai yang. also pro tip, go before noon on weekdays, after that teh pla ra gets milder cuz they batch it for the lunch rush
