Hidden gem hotel for relaxation amongst Bangkok people?

Are there any hotels in Bangkok you like to stay once in a while for anyone based in Bangkok? Are there any hotels in Bangkok you like to stay once in a while for anyone based in Bangkok?

I really like Cabochon Hotel on Sukhumvit 45. It's a tiny boutique place with a colonial vibe and only 18 rooms, so it never feels crowded. The pool is small but usually empty, and their library lounge is a solid spot to just sit with a book and forget you're in Bangkok.

Another option is the Praya Palazzo on the Thonburi side. It's a restored Italian-style villa from the 1920s that feels totally removed from the city, even though it's a short ferry ride from the main river stops. The pool overlooks the Chao Phraya and the restaurant is decent, plus the rooms have high ceilings and old-school charm that make it feel like a different century.

For a true hide-in-plain-sight spot, check out Ariyasomvilla on Sukhumvit 1. It's an old 1940s townhouse turned into a small hotel with a proper garden and pool that feels miles from the soi's chaos. Their restaurant does a solid afternoon tea setup too, which is a nice way to kill an afternoon without leaving the property.

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
