flew that route a few times coming from Nairobi, connection in Addis is pretty smooth tbh they hold your hand through the transfer. the layover program is legit but you gotta book it separate through their site, not on a regular ticket. at BKK they didn't ask me for yellow fever vax but i had it anyway, they're more worried about your onward flight these days.

i did it from dar es salaam and honestly the connection was fine, they just funnel you through a bus to the main terminal. the extended layover is worth it if you like free tours but you gotta book way ahead, i missed the cutoff. no one asked about yellow fever at bkk but i had my card ready just in case

yeah I did it once coming from Kigali, the transfer in Addis is fine but the airport is kinda chaotic so give yourself time. the layover thing is cool if you plan ahead, I didn't bother cause I was in a rush. at BKK they didnt ask for anything, just scanned my passport and waved me through

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
