I keep seeing a rediculous amount job posts from Agoda.

Not just in Thailand but advertising BKK-based positions locally in Europe etc

Seems shady AF that this one Asian company would be spamming job boards worldwide with so many openings so aggressively.

Anyone have the scoop on whats up with that company?

honestly they're just one of those companies that treats hiring like a numbers game. i know someone who works there and they said the interview process is actually pretty streamlined but the churn is real - people burn out in 6 months so they're constantly backfilling roles. the salary packages look good on paper but you're basically trading your social life for money

the On Nut office is nice enough, big open plan with free snacks and stuff but i've heard the management is super micromanagey. if you're thinking of applying just know what you're signing up for

nah it's not shady, just a numbers game. agoda runs on a pretty brutal performance culture so they're always backfilling roles. i know a few people who've been through their engineering interviews and they said the process is actually pretty streamlined which explains why they can process so many candidates at once

the real reason you see so many bkk postings in europe is because they struggle to find senior talent locally. thai tech scene is growing but it's still small so they have to cast a wide net internationally. they offer relocation packages and handle all the visa stuff which is standard for big tech here

the on nut office is nice though, i've been to a work event there. rooftop bar with views of the bts line, free snacks everywhere. just don't expect to use any of that stuff much cause you'll prob be working late

honestly the job spam is just because they're obsessed with hiring english speakers from abroad even for roles that don't need it. i know someone who works there and they said half the teams are full of expats who got relocated from europe or australia just to sit in that sukhumvit 77 office. the pay is good if you're coming from a weak currency country but locals usually get paid way less for the same title so that's prob why they keep fishing overseas

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
