Is there a place to buy dried thick rice noodle packs in Bangkok?

fwiw makro is worth a visit if you're buying in bulk, the location on rama 2 has whole shelves of dried rice noodles including the thick ones. they're not always in the noodle aisle though, sometimes they stock them near the chinese cooking section with the soy sauces and dried mushrooms. also check the freezer section by accident once, found frozen fresh sen yai there too

honestly just go to any big yaowarat grocery store if u're near chinatown. the dried goods shops on yaowarat road have those thick rice noodle packs for way cheaper than supermarkets. look for the ones labeled "sen yai" in the clear plastic bags, they're usually stacked near the entrance. i get mine for like 25 baht a pack at tang holding on charoen krung road

I'd check out the bigger supermarket chains like Tops or Gourmet Market in Siam Paragon or CentralWorld. They usually stock the Wai Wai or Mama brand packs in the noodle aisle, but also look for the imported section where you might find the thicker dried rice noodles used for pad see ew. If you want a local market option, head to Or Tor Kor Market near Chatuchak and ask for "sen yai haeng" at the dried goods stalls.

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
