Spending New Year's Eve alone, any suggestions where to go and what to do?

so I've decided to cancel my friends because I wanna spend NYE alone for the first time my life.

Do you have any ideas or suggestions where to go and/or what to do?

It doesn't have to be Bangkok as long as there's still a chance to get transportation and hotel.

if u want proper solitude but still something memorable, catch the last ferry from sathorn pier to wat arun before midnight. the boat ride across the river alone at that hour is surreal, and wat arun lit up at night is stunning with hardly anyone around. u can walk back across the memorial bridge afterward, it's empty and u get this crazy view of both sides of the river. ferry's cheap and runs late on nye, just check the schedule at sathorn

ngl a solo nye in bkk is kinda perfect if you pick the right spot. i'd actually go to wat arun around midnight, not on the tourist boat but from the thonburi side. the temple is lit up and you get the full skyline reflection without the chaos. grab a bike taxi from klong san, it's like 50 baht, and there's a small riverside soi with street food that's open late. just book a room in bang yai or nonthaburi area if you want cheap, the purple line runs til 2am on nye

ngl if you wanna be alone but still feel the city buzz, take the bts to thong lo and walk down sukhumvit 38. there's a tiny soi near the end with a bench under a massive banyan tree, kinda hidden. grab a beer from 7-11 and just sit there, the tree has fairy lights year-round and it's super quiet even on nye. bts runs until 2am so you can head back whenever, and you'll get a weirdly peaceful view of the chaos from a distance

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
