Where do I get the best and cheapest almost real brands in Bangkok?

the weekend market is worth a look too, chatuchak has a whole section near section 6 where the knockoff sneakers are solid. they're not as polished as the ones at mbk but you can snag a pair for like 300-500 baht if you look around. just dont expect them to last more than a few months, the glue tends to give out in the heat. also the vendors there are less aggressive about haggling so it's a bit more chill

if you want better quality than mbk try the pratunam market area, specifically the platinum fashion mall. the 5th and 6th floors have a bunch of wholesale shops where you can get decent replicas for like 500-1000 baht if you buy a few at once. it's less touristy so prices are lower to begin with and they're used to people buying in bulk for reselling back home. just bring cash and go early in the morning before it gets packed

honestly just head to MBK Center at Siam. it's the go-to spot for replica stuff, 4th floor has rows of stalls selling "brand name" bags and watches. you gotta haggle though, they'll start at like 3000 baht but you can prob get it down to 1500 if you act like you're walking away. the quality varies a lot stall to stall so check the stitching and zippers before you buy

best som tam in Bangkok? Krua Dok Mai Kao 2026

Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but I've always found their som tam a bit tame on the pla ra. If you want the real funky version, try the shophouse spots along Soi Udomsuk 26, near the night market end. They pound it fresh with fermented fish that'll clear your sinuses, and it's like 60 baht. Different style from the On Nut places, more Lao-leaning.

for som tam specifically i'd say the Isaan spots in Chatuchak are underrated, weekdays only though since the weekend crowd ruins the vibe. there's a stall near gate 2 that does tam pa with fermented bamboo shoots, super sour and funky, not something you see much in On Nut. if you're already heading north for Or Tor Kor anyway its worth the detour.

honestly the som tam at Krua Dok Mai Kao is good but what got me hooked is their nam prik pla raa dip with the raw veggies, that funk hits way harder than the papaya does. think most people sleep on it cuz they just order the som tam and gai yang. also pro tip, go before noon on weekdays, after that teh pla ra gets milder cuz they batch it for the lunch rush
