is this actually good fried chicken?

the fried chicken here is decent enough but honestly their honey butter sauce is what keeps me coming back. if you're comparing to the spot on Soi 23 that does the sriracha honey glaze, this one's way more consistent

depends which spot you mean, there's a few places claiming to be the best. the one near on nut bts is pretty consistent, they use thigh meat which stays moist. the sriracha mayo they give is better than the sweet chili

i think the real draw here is the marinade they use, it's got this slight lemongrass kick that sets it apart from standard fried chicken places. the portion size is generous for the price, like 80 baht for a big box. just don't expect it to be as good if you get delivery, it loses that crunch on the way over

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
