Best place to be high AF in Bangkok?

Alright, you're probably about an hour in now and the edges are getting fuzzy. Skip the crowded stuff and head to the riverside at Tha Maharaj, it's a little pedestrian walkway behind the main pier. Find a spot on the concrete steps near the big banyan tree where the river breeze cuts through the humidity, and watch the longtail boats rip past. The way the water catches the neon lights from the condos across the river is hypnotic, and the fried banana vendor near the entrance does a good batch for 20 baht if the munchies hit.

Since you're already floating, the best move is to grab a taxi to the Golden Mount at Wat Saket. It's open until 7pm and the climb up the spiral staircase through the bells and trees feels like ascending into another dimension. Once you're at the top, the 360 degree view of Bangkok sprawled out below you is perfect for staring at while the brownie peaks. There's a small bench on the northeast side that catches the breeze and you can watch the planes landing at Don Mueang in the distance, just bring your own water because the shop up there is overpriced.

tbh if you're already floating, just wander into chinatown around yaowarat road. the neon signs blur into this crazy glow and the smell of grilled squid and pandan pancakes hits you from every direction. grab a seat at one of those plastic tables near the corner of soi yaowapanit, order a hot pot of herbal tea for like 30 baht, and just watch the tuk tuks weave through the crowd. it's a sensory overload but in the best way, and nobody's gonna bother you if you're just sitting there staring into space

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
