Slice & Co Bangkok 2026: still worth it?

Anyone know what's there now and whether the pizza is still decent? Thinking of moving back to that area in 2026 so curious if it's still worth living around there.

Still Slice & Co, different owners, thinner crust now.

yeah the crust got noticeably crispier, more Roman style than the old New York fold. honestly I prefer it now, easier to eat walking down the soi. the garlic knots are teh real reason to go though.

garlic knots w/ the chili honey, not plain

chili honey costs extra now, 20 baht

different owners also means the queue at 11pm is way shorter now, which matters more to me than crust thickness

the sit down side upstairs is gone though, just counter service & a few stools out front now

Word is the rent on that block jumped after the BTS extension, so check leases before committing to Soi 11.

thinner crust is the tell, theyre doing a proper long ferment now so it holds up better on the walk home

arrow_drop_up 1 arrow_drop_down

they also killed the by-the-slice lunch deal, now its 2 slices minimum which stings if u just want one

arrow_drop_up 4 arrow_drop_down

Image hannemarie local ·

also they dropped the pepperoni cups for plain pepperoni which is a shame. and no more ranch on the side, its a 30 baht add on now. small stuff but it adds up

best som tam in Bangkok? Krua Dok Mai Kao 2026

Their som tam is prob the most authentic I've found in the city, and the grilled chicken is always on point. Anyone else go here?

Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but I've always found their som tam a bit tame on the pla ra. If you want the real funky version, try the shophouse spots along Soi Udomsuk 26, near the night market end. They pound it fresh with fermented fish that'll clear your sinuses, and it's like 60 baht. Different style from the On Nut places, more Lao-leaning.

arrow_drop_up 5 arrow_drop_down

for som tam specifically i'd say the Isaan spots in Chatuchak are underrated, weekdays only though since the weekend crowd ruins the vibe. there's a stall near gate 2 that does tam pa with fermented bamboo shoots, super sour and funky, not something you see much in On Nut. if you're already heading north for Or Tor Kor anyway its worth the detour.

honestly the som tam at Krua Dok Mai Kao is good but what got me hooked is their nam prik pla raa dip with the raw veggies, that funk hits way harder than the papaya does. think most people sleep on it cuz they just order the som tam and gai yang. also pro tip, go before noon on weekdays, after that teh pla ra gets milder cuz they batch it for the lunch rush
