book ahead, walk-ins wait hours, and the basic package runs around 8,000 to 12,000 baht at BNH

Second this, but skip the queue with the BNH app.

arrow_drop_up 3 arrow_drop_down

app only does same-day slots, book a day or two out

The walk-in queue is worst mid-morning, so aim for the 7am opening if you don't book. Also worth knowing they're closed on some public holidays, so ring 02 022 0700 first.

7am works but get there by 6.40, the health check desk on the ground floor fills up before the doors even open properly. silom soi 9 is one way so tell ur driver to come off rama iv, saves u a loop

yeah that range is right but the cheaper end is mostly bloodwork and vitals. if u want ECG or chest x-ray added it jumps past 15k. ask for the itemised list upfront so you know whats included

arrow_drop_up 3 arrow_drop_down
Image nelly local ·

good shout on the itemised list, they'll also upsell you a separate doctor consult fee at the end if u don't confirm it's bundled in

arrow_drop_up 3 arrow_drop_down

ask for the farang price list, thai rate is lower

arrow_drop_up 16 arrow_drop_down
Image biggy local ·

That dual pricing thing is mostly myth at BNH now, they've had one published foreigner rate for years, so u won't get a cheaper Thai number by asking.

Farang rate sheet is published online now.

best som tam in Bangkok? Krua Dok Mai Kao 2026

Their som tam is prob the most authentic I've found in the city, and the grilled chicken is always on point. Anyone else go here?

Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but I've always found their som tam a bit tame on the pla ra. If you want the real funky version, try the shophouse spots along Soi Udomsuk 26, near the night market end. They pound it fresh with fermented fish that'll clear your sinuses, and it's like 60 baht. Different style from the On Nut places, more Lao-leaning.

arrow_drop_up 5 arrow_drop_down

for som tam specifically i'd say the Isaan spots in Chatuchak are underrated, weekdays only though since the weekend crowd ruins the vibe. there's a stall near gate 2 that does tam pa with fermented bamboo shoots, super sour and funky, not something you see much in On Nut. if you're already heading north for Or Tor Kor anyway its worth the detour.

honestly the som tam at Krua Dok Mai Kao is good but what got me hooked is their nam prik pla raa dip with the raw veggies, that funk hits way harder than the papaya does. think most people sleep on it cuz they just order the som tam and gai yang. also pro tip, go before noon on weekdays, after that teh pla ra gets milder cuz they batch it for the lunch rush
