Pulse Bangkok 2026: what's the door policy like?

What's the door policy and dress code like there, and is it worth going on a Friday or Saturday? Also curious what time it actually fills up.

Bangkok locals treat Pulse as a warmup spot, not the whole night. Most people I know rock up around 11 with a group because solo entry gets a harder look at the door. Get a table if you can, the floor gets messy fast.

group chat is basically mandatory there

Table minimum spend, that's the real door.

True, and the minimums jump hard for the good spots near the DJ booth, so ask what you're committing to before you sit.

and the minimums are per bottle not per head, so split it before anyone sits down

Friday, not Saturday. Fills after midnight.

yeah the midnight thing is right, but the queue gets long by 12:30 so go earlier. dress code is smart casual, no flip flops or singlets. tbh the music is better on sat but the crowd is way more mixed.

Also they stop letting people in around 2am so don't roll up late thinking it runs all night.

arrow_drop_up 2 arrow_drop_down

Sat is guest DJ nights, that's the difference

arrow_drop_up 1 arrow_drop_down

honestly it's not even full til closer to 1, earlier than that u can stroll in pretty easy

best som tam in Bangkok? Krua Dok Mai Kao 2026

Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but I've always found their som tam a bit tame on the pla ra. If you want the real funky version, try the shophouse spots along Soi Udomsuk 26, near the night market end. They pound it fresh with fermented fish that'll clear your sinuses, and it's like 60 baht. Different style from the On Nut places, more Lao-leaning.

for som tam specifically i'd say the Isaan spots in Chatuchak are underrated, weekdays only though since the weekend crowd ruins the vibe. there's a stall near gate 2 that does tam pa with fermented bamboo shoots, super sour and funky, not something you see much in On Nut. if you're already heading north for Or Tor Kor anyway its worth the detour.

honestly the som tam at Krua Dok Mai Kao is good but what got me hooked is their nam prik pla raa dip with the raw veggies, that funk hits way harder than the papaya does. think most people sleep on it cuz they just order the som tam and gai yang. also pro tip, go before noon on weekdays, after that teh pla ra gets milder cuz they batch it for the lunch rush
