Best pizza in Bangkok near Nonno's 2026?

fmd_goodNonno's · #pizza
Coming to Bangkok in 2026 and Nonno's keeps coming up for pizza. Is it actually worth the trip or are there better spots nearby? Any idea what a pizza runs there these days? honestly Nonno's is solid but i'd walk over to Peppina on Sukhumvit 33 instead. proper neapolitan, chewy blistered crust, and a margherita runs around 350 to 400 baht these days. Nonno's is closer to 450 for the same thing and the room's tighter. if u want a sit down dinner book Peppina ahead, it fills up after 7

Book via their site, walk ins get squeezed.

fair but the byron bay pie at Peppina is the real order, margherita is a bit plain tbh

solid take but i'd argue the wait after 7 is the whole problem, i usually roll in around 6 and walk straight in. the diavola there is the sleeper pick btw, not the plain one

Pizza Mania on Sukhumvit 23, better crust.

Crust holds up better cold, order delivery via Line Man.

arrow_drop_up 1 arrow_drop_down

yeah delivery is smarter than fighting the soi traffic. grab a box of garlic knots too, they survive the ride better than the pie does tbh

Mania's weekday lunch, no queue.

arrow_drop_up 4 arrow_drop_down

Does that lunch deal run weekdays only or Saturday too, and do you need to call ahead for a table of four?

arrow_drop_up 4 arrow_drop_down

If you're out that way anyway, grab a slice at Il Bolognese on Soi 31, thin Roman style, about 280 baht.

best som tam in Bangkok? Krua Dok Mai Kao 2026

Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but I've always found their som tam a bit tame on the pla ra. If you want the real funky version, try the shophouse spots along Soi Udomsuk 26, near the night market end. They pound it fresh with fermented fish that'll clear your sinuses, and it's like 60 baht. Different style from the On Nut places, more Lao-leaning.

arrow_drop_up 5 arrow_drop_down

for som tam specifically i'd say the Isaan spots in Chatuchak are underrated, weekdays only though since the weekend crowd ruins the vibe. there's a stall near gate 2 that does tam pa with fermented bamboo shoots, super sour and funky, not something you see much in On Nut. if you're already heading north for Or Tor Kor anyway its worth the detour.

honestly the som tam at Krua Dok Mai Kao is good but what got me hooked is their nam prik pla raa dip with the raw veggies, that funk hits way harder than the papaya does. think most people sleep on it cuz they just order the som tam and gai yang. also pro tip, go before noon on weekdays, after that teh pla ra gets milder cuz they batch it for the lunch rush
