How do residents in large cities manage relaxation without dealing with traffic and crowds?

Cafes can be noisy, spas require long travel, and public transport during peak hours is stressful. I now order everything from food to wellness services to my home, which has significantly reduced my stress. Has anyone else reached this stage of preferring home-based relaxation? What are your methods for unwinding without facing the busy environment outside?

I've started booking mobile massage therapists through apps like Ookbee, they come to my condo in Sukhumvit for about 800 baht an hour. Honestly, my main unwind is just sitting on my balcony with a book after 8pm when the heat breaks.

I do the same thing with groceries and meal kits. GrabMart and Big C's delivery have gotten good enough that I rarely set foot in a supermarket. For unwinding, I put on noise-canceling headphones and work on a jigsaw puzzle or watch something on Netflix. It beats sitting in traffic on Rama IV for an hour just to get to a restaurant.

Yeah, I'm pretty much there too. I turned my small balcony into a little garden with some plants and a cheap hammock, and I just zone out there with a cold drink after work. If I really need to reset, I'll do a late night swim at my condo pool around 10pm when it's empty, feels like having the whole place to myself.

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
