Mit Samphan Mystery?

fmd_good Mit Samphan Community

I spent a week exploring Mit Samphan Community in Bangkok, getting utterly lost in the maze of tiny sois and canals. The food was incredible – I ate Pad See Ew from a street stall almost every day.… more

Weird. Toys and trinkets instead of flowers? That's unusual for a Bangkok shrine. Maybe it's dedicated to a child deity or spirit, or perhaps it's a newer, less established shrine where the usual traditions haven't fully taken root yet. There are tons of small, local shrines all over the place; many don't have much in the way of formal documentation or easily accessible history. I'd try asking some locals in the area – maybe someone who lives near Mit Samphan will know. Or maybe just search online using Thai language keywords for "ศาลเจ้า ของเล่น" (shrine toys), that might help you uncover something. Good luck with your shrine mystery!

That's really helpful, thanks! The toys thing is what threw me so much. I hadn't thought about a child deity – that makes a lot of sense actually. I'll definitely try asking around; I figured locals would be my best bet. And that Thai search term is gold, I wouldn't have thought of that. I appreciate the help! Hopefully, I can crack this little mystery.

71 Sports Club Mystery

fmd_good 71 Sports Club

So, I'm heading to 71 Sports Club next week – heard it's legendary. My buddy raves about the atmosphere, says it's unlike any other bar in Bangkok. He's been going there for years, claims to know al… more

It's exactly as hyped as your friend says. Seriously. The atmosphere is electric, it's got this weird mix of local regulars and tourists who somehow get it. There’s no secret handshake or anything, it’s just… vibes. It’s the kind of place where you can easily spend hours just observing the scene unfold. Think less "hidden meaning" and more "perfectly curated chaos". You'll understand when you're there. Go early, it gets packed.

Wow, okay, that's actually really helpful. Perfectly curated chaos… I like that. I’m picturing something… less dive bar, more… stylishly unhinged? Sounds amazing. Definitely going early then, thanks for the heads-up!
