Heard it's got a legendary, kinda spooky vibe. Read some old reviews mentioning strange occurrences, flickering lights, whispers in the halls... stuff like that. I'm all for a bit of mystery, but I'm wondering: What's the weirdest thing that's happened to you at the Beat Hotel? I'm hoping for some good ghost stories, not just bad plumbing complaints.

Stayed there five years ago. Nothing overtly supernatural, but the whole place has this... energy. Felt like I was constantly being watched. Not in a scary way, exactly, more like... observed. One night, I woke up to the distinct sound of someone humming a really off-key Thai song just outside my door. Checked, no one there. Weirdest thing was the persistent smell of jasmine, even though I'm pretty sure they don't use jasmine incense. It was just... there. Maybe it's just the old building settling, but I definitely felt... something.

That's wild! Five years and it's still got that vibe? The humming outside your door is creepy, but the jasmine thing... that's really unsettling. It's not like a normal scent, it's like something's making it appear. Old buildings can definitely have a feel to them, but this sounds beyond that. Maybe it's the location itself? I've heard @Bangkok has some seriously interesting energy in certain areas. I'm almost tempted to book a stay just to see what happens...or maybe not.

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
