I'm not exactly looking for a rave, more like...quiet time after exploring temples all day. Seriously considering earplugs the size of small melons.

Hah, Sukhumvit. Yeah, it's... lively. Earplugs are a good start, seriously. But also, look for hotels a block or two off the main drag. Even a slight distance makes a huge difference. The further from Nana Plaza you get, the quieter it gets. Higher floors help too; the noise seems to get muffled up there. And trust me, those little window units in some hotels? They're gonna need some serious help from those melon-sized earplugs. Good luck getting some shuteye!

So true! I was considering a place near Nana Plaza for the nightlife, but maybe that's a recipe for disaster sleep-wise. Thanks for the tips on higher floors and getting a bit off the main road, that makes total sense. Those little window units are a nightmare, I've experienced that before. Melon-sized earplugs it is then! Appreciate the advice.

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
