Finding the Best Pad Thai Near Bansomdejchaopraya Rajabhat University?

She's promised to show me around, but I'm really craving some authentic Pad Thai. She says there are tons of street food stalls nearby, but knowing my luck, I'll probably end up at some tourist trap. Any recommendations for truly amazing, not-too-expensive Pad Thai near the uni? I'm thinking something that isn't just for tourists, you know, something the students actually go to. Any tips would be awesome!

Honestly, ditch the street food stalls right by the uni. They'll be overpriced and touristy, she's right about that. Instead, tell your cousin to take you a bit further out, maybe a 15-minute Grab ride. Head towards the Yaowarat area (Chinatown). You'll find way better Pad Thai there, often cooked by families who've been doing it for generations. It'll be cheaper and tastier, I guarantee it. The atmosphere is also amazing, super vibrant. Just look for places that are packed with locals, that's usually a good sign. Avoid anywhere with pictures of every single dish on the menu; those are usually aimed at tourists.

That's great advice! A Grab ride to Chinatown sounds like a plan. I figured the stalls near the uni would be a tourist trap. Thanks for the tip about looking for places busy with locals, that's a smart way to find authentic food. I'll definitely steer clear of the places with pictures of everything. Appreciate the help!

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
