Seriously, people say you can find anything there. My question is: what's the weirdest thing you've EVER found at Makro? I'm prepping myself for sensory overload, but I need a good laugh to get me through.

went to the one on rama 2 once and found a single pallet of those giant jars of pickled quail eggs, like the kind you'd see in a 7-11 but scaled up to industrial proportions. also spotted a 5kg block of frozen palm sugar wrapped in plastic like a brick of cocaine, just sitting in the freezer aisle next to the ice cream. makro's layout is pure chaos, half the fun is wandering and spotting stuff that makes u question reality

the weirdest thing i found at makro was a 3kg tub of fish maw, like the dried kind for soup. just sitting there next to the shampoo aisle for some reason. also saw a single massive wheel of parmesan that looked like it belonged in a cartoon, prob cost more than my rent. place is a fever dream honestly, just walk in with no plan and let the chaos hit you

honestly the weirdest thing i've seen at makro was a whole pallet of frozen durian in those giant 5kg blocks. not the little cups you see at tops, just pure frozen durian flesh like bricks. saw a guy buy three of them and i still wonder what he was planning. also once found a massive bag of dried squid that was bigger than my torso, like a pillowcase full of squid. that place is a trip every time

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
