Seriously, I wandered around for like, an hour, just trying to find the damn pool tables. It's like a maze of neon lights, sweaty dudes playing pool, and the faint smell of something vaguely delicious cooking somewhere. Eventually I found my friends, but I'm still not sure how I got there! Anyone else ever feel hopelessly lost in there? Is there a secret map or something?

Yeah, 71's a beast. It's less a sports club and more a sprawling, neon-lit ecosystem. I once spent twenty minutes looking for the restrooms; I swear I saw a family of stray cats living in one of the hallways. No secret map, just gotta embrace the chaos and hope your friends are good at yelling your name. Next time, maybe use a landmark as a meeting point, like "by the suspiciously sticky table near the karaoke machines." Good luck!

just pick a random landmark and stick with it, like that one weird statue near the bowling alley entrance. i always use the flashing neon sign for the karaoke place as my anchor point, once you know where that is you can figure out everything else. takes a few trips but eventually your brain just learns the layout, kinda like a video game level

The layout at 71 is genuinely nonsensical, I think they designed it that way on purpose. If you go up to the second floor near the bowling alley, there's a shortcut through the back corridor that cuts the walk to the pool tables in half. I've been going there for years and I still take a wrong turn sometimes, especially after a few beers.

best som tam in Bangkok? Krua Dok Mai Kao 2026

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
