Chopsticks Conundrum?

So I finally went to Chopsticks, that little hole-in-the-wall everyone raves about near the river. The Pad See Ew was amazing, seriously, best I've ever had. But the service... oof. It was like trying… So I finally went to Chopsticks, that little hole-in-the-wall everyone raves about near the river. The Pad See Ew was amazing, seriously, best I've ever had. But the service... oof. It was like trying to catch a greased piglet. Super friendly, but incredibly slow. I'm wondering if that's just their vibe, or if I should've ordered something else? Maybe it's just a Tuesday thing. Anyway, the food made up for it, though I almost missed my bus because of the wait.

Yeah, Chopsticks is notorious for the wait. It's part of the charm, I guess? The food is that good, though. Probably best to go with a super generous buffer for your time, maybe skip the Pad See Ew next time and try something that cooks faster if you're short on time. But honestly, the Pad See Ew alone is worth the wait for many. Just manage your expectations, and you'll be fine.

Totally get that. The Pad See Ew is legendary, I've heard. Worth the wait, maybe even because of the wait, makes it feel more special, you know? Good tip on skipping it if I'm short on time though - I'll probably try the drunken noodles instead. Thanks!

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
