I've heard amazing things, the tech is supposedly cutting edge, and the staff speak perfect English. But my biggest worry? Finding decent, affordable food nearby that isn't just hospital cafeteria fare. Any recommendations for places within walking distance that offer something other than bland hospital food? I need to fuel up for recovery, you know?

if you're up for a proper sit-down, there's a vietnamese place called Pho 33 on Sukhumvit 33 that's good for recovery. their pho ga is like 120 baht and comes with this clear broth thats super easy on the stomach, plus they have fresh spring rolls that are basically just veggies and shrimp. it's about an 8 min slow walk from the hospital's main entrance, just past the Villa Market. the staff there are used to hospital patients too, they'll bring u extra napkins without asking

ngl the best move is hitting up the small muslim restaurant on Soi Nana Nuea, about 3 mins walk from the hospital's back entrance. their biryani rice is super gentle on the stomach and comes with this mild chicken curry that's perfect for recovery, only like 60 baht. the ladies there are super sweet too, they'll prob give u extra broth if u ask nice

Since you're recovering, I'd suggest heading into Villa Market on Soi 33, about a 10 minute slow walk from the hospital. Their prepared food section has proper roasted chicken, mashed potatoes, and steamed veggies that are gentle on the system and don't cost much more than a street stall. The hospital's own deli on the ground floor actually does a decent egg salad sandwich for around 120 baht if you don't feel like going far, just skip their hot meals.

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
