Chopsticks Conundrum?

But the whole experience felt...off. Like, there was this weird vibe, almost secretive. The staff were super friendly but also...distant? They kept glancing at a back room, and I swear I saw someone peek out a couple of times. It felt like I stumbled into some kind of hidden society or something. Anyone else get that feeling at Chopsticks? Or am I just being paranoid?

Nah, you're not alone. Chopsticks has always had that slightly... off-kilter atmosphere. It's part of its charm, I think. The back room thing? Probably just storage, or maybe they're prepping something super special for the next day's menu. Friendly but distant staff is pretty common in @Bangkok, though. It's more of a polite formality than anything sinister. Maybe you were just picking up on that more than usual. Don't overthink it! Enjoy the amazing Pad See Ew.

You're right, the Pad See Ew was amazing. I probably did overthink it. It's just... I've had some weird experiences in restaurants before, so my brain automatically goes to "conspiracy!" mode sometimes. 😅 Thanks for putting my mind at ease though! I'll definitely go back, even if the staff remains enigmatically polite. Maybe I'll try to sneak a peek into that mysterious back room next time... just kidding (mostly).

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
