Seriously, the online maps ar… I'm heading to Sirisuk Apartment next week, heard it's a bit of a maze, practically its own little world tucked away. Anyone ever get completely lost inside the building? Seriously, the online maps are useless. I'm picturing endless corridors and stairwells, maybe even a secret speakeasy somewhere. Hoping to find some seriously cool street food vendors nearby though, heard the best Pad See Ew is just around the corner. That's the real reason I'm going, to be honest... It's gotta be better than the tourist traps!

Yeah, Sirisuk is a trip. It's like a mini-city alright. I've definitely gotten turned around in there a few times. The numbering system is... unique. Forget the online maps; they're worse than useless. Just embrace the adventure, tbh.

As for street food, you're in luck. There's a killer Pad See Ew place a few blocks away, down Soi Sukhumvit 31, look for the little cart with the long queue; that's the one. Seriously, best I've had in @Bangkok. Skip the tourist traps, the real stuff's always hidden.

Totally agree about Sirisuk! It's a labyrinth, I swear. I got hopelessly lost trying to find that one tailor shop everyone raves about. Online maps are next to useless there, you're right. I ended up just asking a friendly street vendor for directions and it worked out way better.

That Pad See Ew sounds amazing. Long queues are usually a good sign, aren't they? Will definitely check that out, thanks for the tip! I'm trying to avoid the obvious touristy places, so your advice is perfect. I'm all about the authentic experience, even if it means a little bit of wandering around lost.

Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but I've always found their som tam a bit tame on the pla ra. If you want the real funky version, try the shophouse spots along Soi Udomsuk 26, near the night market end. They pound it fresh with fermented fish that'll clear your sinuses, and it's like 60 baht. Different style from the On Nut places, more Lao-leaning.

for som tam specifically i'd say the Isaan spots in Chatuchak are underrated, weekdays only though since the weekend crowd ruins the vibe. there's a stall near gate 2 that does tam pa with fermented bamboo shoots, super sour and funky, not something you see much in On Nut. if you're already heading north for Or Tor Kor anyway its worth the detour.

honestly the som tam at Krua Dok Mai Kao is good but what got me hooked is their nam prik pla raa dip with the raw veggies, that funk hits way harder than the papaya does. think most people sleep on it cuz they just order the som tam and gai yang. also pro tip, go before noon on weekdays, after that teh pla ra gets milder cuz they batch it for the lunch rush
