It's always a bit of a ghost town at that hour, though. Anyone else ever experienced the eerie quiet of Tops at 2 AM? It's kinda freaky, but the mango deals are worth it. Seriously though, is it just me, or are the night shift employees at Tops always super chill? They're like, zen masters of the grocery game. Maybe it's the calming effect of all those perfectly arranged vegetables...

The Thong Lo night crew really are something else. I swear they have a silent agreement to just let customers roam in peace without that fake daytime friendliness. The mangoes are the draw but I've started timing my trip to catch the fresh baked goods getting marked down around 1:30 AM, the croissants end up being like 20 baht. The quiet is actually nice once you get used to it, beats fighting through the after work crowd at 6 PM.

honestly the real magic at tops night shift is the bakery clearance around 1:30-2am at the sathon branch. they mark down the pain au chocolat to like 20 baht and the croissants are still flaky next morning. the silence is part of the charm, no one rushing you and you can actually read the labels on those weird import sauces without someone trying to squeeze past. the night crew at sathon are prob the chillest in bangkok, i saw one dude just meditating in the produce section once.

you guys are sleeping on the tops night shift at the ekkamai location. the mango deals are solid but around 2am they put out the discounted imported cheeses, like 50% off stuff that was 800 baht earlier that day. grabbed a wheel of brie for like 180 baht last week. the night crew there is just as chill, one lady let me sample three different types of olives before i committed. the quiet is whatever, its the same vibe as being the only person awake in your apartment building but with better dairy options

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
