So I finally went to Chopsticks, that little gem everyone raves about near the river. The Pad See Ew was incredible, seriously. But the service... oof. I swear I waited an hour for the bill. I swear I waited an hour for the bill. Anyone else experience this glacial pacing, or was I just unlucky? I'd love to go back, but that wait time was brutal.

Yeah, Chopsticks is a total rollercoaster. Amazing food, absolutely killer Pad See Ew like you said, but the service can be... a marathon. I've had both ends of the spectrum there, lightning-fast service one time, agonizingly slow another. I think it depends heavily on how busy they are and maybe even who's working that night. Worth it for the food, though, if you can handle the potential wait. Maybe try going at an off-peak time?

Totally get that. That's exactly my experience, the Pad See Ew is legendary! I've been there twice, once it was super quick, the other... well, let's just say I almost started knitting. Off-peak sounds like a solid plan, I'll try that next time. Thanks for the tip!

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
